À la croisée des chemins
Dir. : Jean-Marie Poitevin [Société des missions étrangères de la province de Québec, 1942]
This feature-length film by the priest Jean-Marie Poitevin of the Société des Missions étrangères, made to recruit missionaries, met with great success in the provinces colleges and parish halls. It combined fiction footage shot in Quebec with documentary images shot by Poitevin in Manchuria. Poitevin obtained the participation in the film of professional actors such as Paul Guèvremont and Denise Pelletier. The film was also narrated by a young René Lévesque, several years before he became a political figure.
